Our Story

The Bair Family

From our family
to yours.

My Alaska Base Camp was born from a simple belief: that everyone deserves to experience the raw, untouched beauty of Alaska — without a luxury price tag. The Bair family, longtime Alaskan residents, founded the camp in 2020 with a mission to share their beloved home with adventurers from across the world.

Soldotna sits at the heart of the Kenai Peninsula — a region world-famous for its salmon runs, breathtaking landscapes, and genuine frontier spirit. Here, guests are minutes from some of the best fishing in North America, surrounded by boreal forests, and within reach of glaciers, volcanoes, and pristine coastlines.

What started as a small tent camp has grown into a full-service outdoor adventure base, complete with bunk cabins, gear rental, guided experiences, and day tours to destinations across southcentral Alaska. Through it all, we have kept our family-run character intact — every guest is greeted personally, every question answered honestly, and every experience curated with genuine care.
